As someone who never sleeps, Patty has an endless stream of stories drawn from her nocturnal lifestyle. Through her many experiences, she reflects in her own unconventional way on human nature, pleasure, and loneliness. Beneath the provocative surface of her adventures lies a young woman trying to escape solitude, driven by an insatiable appetite for life and an almost total resistance to disappointment. Set against the vibrant backdrop of 1980s Madrid, Patty’s world is filled with eccentric characters who embody the excesses, traumas, and contradictions of the era. The accompanying “other texts” are a selection of writings by Pedro Almodóvar for newspapers and magazines.
