Once an online store in its own right, my aim was always to unite readers and books, a process I refer to as helping a book find its forever-family. For five years, Preloved Bookshop operated as an online store, shipping books out of a warehouse in Melbourne. As you can imagine, costs were high, and in an effort to keep the task of sending books around Australia low, we took a few hits.
Now, as of 2025, Preloved Bookshop operates as a bookish marketplace, allowing people all around Australia to sell their books – everyone from members of the public giving some of their books another chance to be read, to authors who wish to clear their back-stock of out-of-print titles. I believe this allows Preloved to continue what I felt was it’s ultimate goal: to keep books in circulation, and get books read again.
I’m a seasoned web developer with over 15 years of experience, collaborating with authors, artists, and businesses globally to transform digital dreams into reality, and I’ve built online communities since before social media was a thing.
Throughout my extensive digital career, I have amassed a wealth of knowledge that I now channel into my mission of helping beloved books discover new homes. For almost six years, I managed the online store, presence, and digital assets of Preloved Bookshop when it was based in Melbourne, until the warehouse closure in preparation for its sale in August 2025.
Retaining the digital presence of the business, Preloved Bookshop now enables me to passionately combine my technical and community management skills with a deep appreciation for literature, ensuring that every cherished book finds its way into the hands of eager readers all over Australia.
