In the dense jungles of Oahu, Hawaii, a group of scientists from Nanigen MicroTechnologies laboratories are dedicated to studying the natural compounds found in trillions of microorganisms and thousands of bacteria, with the aim of exploiting every possible commercial application. To this end, Nanigen recruits seven postgraduate students to work in its Hawaii labs. There, they will take part in microbiological discoveries they could never even have imagined. But once in the jungles of Oahu, the seven find themselves immersed in a hostile world as dangerous as it is astonishing. The only resource at their disposal will be their specialised knowledge, which will help them harness the forces of nature itself.
