Verandah Music: Roots of Australian Tradition

Known as “verandah music,” the folk music of Australia has developed over the centuries through the mingling of indigenous and European musical traditions.

This volume presents interviews with dozens of Australian folk musicians, accompanied by recent and historical photos. Some of the musicians profiled include gumleaf virtuoso Virgil Reutens, fiddler Eileen McCoy, and accordionist Dave Matthias.
