The Poems of Kenneth Mackenzie

Replacing the Selected Poems of 1961, the present collection includes many poems that have not previously been published in book form. It also includes Kenneth Mackenzie’s long poem, Our Earth, which has not been printed in full since the first limited edition in 1937.

Kenneth Mackenzie, who was accidentally drowned in 1955, is recognised as one of the most accomplished of Australian poets, even though his tragically early death prevented the full development of his talent. In his verse, besides its lyrical quality, are to be found the same lavishness and sensuousness that distinguish his novels such as The Young Desire It and Dead Men Rising.
