Human Rights in International & Australian Law

This book is designed to provide students with an introduction to human rights in international law, and examines its relationship with human rights in Australia. The three sections of the book address the three principal areas within human rights.

The first part considers the major international human rights instruments and their operation; the second part examines the principles of international humanitarian law; and the final part looks at Australia’s domestic human rights and anti-discrimination legislation.

The discussion in each part is easily digested to introduce human rights law students to the subject and provides a starting point for those interested in further study.
