Peter Murphy is thirty-three and has always lived in Melbourne.

Married, with one child, and working as a teacher, he leads a reasonably quiet life, claiming to be less concerned with doing than with being, and finds looking about him one of his greatest pleasures.

He has long been interested in the potential of different forms of writing: his other works include a novel, Master; an opera libretto, Jo Being; a play, Glitter; and collections of poetry, Seen & Unseen, Glass Doors and Escape Victim. His work has been published in a number of journals and antho-logies.
