A Quilter’s Journey: Inspiration to Culmination

Cynthia Morgan’s book reveals her capacity to make from the ordinary stuff of fabric wonders of personal expression.

Although historically patchwork quilting was a craft of making-do, Morgan’s work is not constrained by that ethic. Many of her works, often her responses to Australia’s geographical and physical diversity, have been exhibited around the world.

This book describes some of the sources of the artist’s inspiration and how she has interpreted them. Lavishly illustrated in full colour, the book includes a number of quilts from her well known Barrier Reef, Rainforest and Australian Outback series, and many other quilts, such as the wonderful starscape Beyond Our Imaginings and the Metamorphosis quilts.
