The compiler of this fascinating collection of herbal lore developed his love of herbs during six months in Greece and around the Aegean and the Mediterranean, where most of these unique plants originate. From 16th century books and earlier manuscripts, he has culled the ancients’ knowledge of herbs and their properties and now passes it on to the 20th century with his own commentary, adding many new ideas for growing and using herbs today.
