The Australian Art Companion: A selection of Influential Artists

This book is a compilation of 55 stimulating and influential Australian artist. From the forgers and counterfeiters turned artists and recordists of the early Colony, through the Australian Impressionist days of the Heidelberg School, to the modernist movement of Abstract Expressionism, each has made a significant contribution to Australian Art.

Every artist featured is represented by a single work. the overall collection forming a wide selection of subjects and styles – a microcosm of artistic talent from Australia’s best painters and sculptors. Nearly all the works shown are on public display and can be viewed in State galleries around the country.
