Texas has been known for its extravagant floral panoramas since it was roamed by nomadic Indian tribes and European explorers.

Each region of this diverse state has its own special wildflowers that have adapted wonderfully to the exigencies of climate and soil. Despite extensive grazing, the prairies of Central Texas in springtime nurture some of the most splendidly coloured wildflowers on earth. On the timberlands of East Texas, wildflowers make their own concessions to the environment and paint splashes of magnificent colour in the forests.
