An account of Brain Lewis’s childhood spent in the Melbourne suburb of Armadale form 1909 to 1921.

The youngest of eight children, he was brought up in a close-knit family whose lives, like many of those of the time, were strongly shaped by the church.

In his biography, Brian Lewis, Emeritus Professor of Architecture at the University of Melbourne, describes his growing up through twelve years of Sundays, giving us a fine sense of suburban life in the years spanning First World War.
