Nature Talks to New Zealanders

For almost twenty years Crosbie Morrison held the attention of a vast audience of listeners on both sides of the Tasman with his broadcast talks on “Wild Life”.

People of all ages, including children, listened regularly, for his appeal was universal. The scope of his subject and his enthusiasm for it were boundless and his scientific knowledge was profound. His death brought to a close a remarkable career of service in the cause of conservation, and removed from our midst one of the most effective and best-loved radio personalities of this generation.

Adapted scripts of the broadcasts on New Zealand nature topics, which followed Mr. Morrison’s visit to this country, are presented in this book. The qualities that made the live broadcasts so memorable and so widely popular – the intimate, friendly communication established by the speaker with his unseen audience, his sense of humour and his all-pervading interest in his subject are vividly present in the written word..
