Drawing and Painting Architecture in Landscape

By Adrian Hill

Adrian Hill, who has written many instructional books on various facets of drawing and painting, has now produced a volume devoted to the subject of architecture in landscape.

He looks at the way in which some of the great painters of our heritage have included architecture in their paintings and then goes on to show how to select subjects- whether it be a great cathedral or a castle, or a simple cottage or corner of a village street. For the benefit of the beginner, he recapitulates in his text some of the main principles of perspective, composition and the suitability of different mediums and materials.
