Barbarians, Christians and Muslims

By Trevor Cairns

$9.00

The book begins with a general summary of the “barbarians” on the move and settling down in various parts of Europe.

There is then a deliberate focus on England as a case study of how the barbarians transformed what remained of Roman Britain.
The book then shifts to offer brief summaries of Islam, Byzantium and the birth of the Holy Roman Empire, before returning to England, where Christianity had begun to exert a civilising effect upon the Scandinavian settlers.
The main focus of the book is very much on the barbarians in England. Readers must decide for themselves whether this is a good thing.
