A History of the Scottish Women’s Hospitals

The story told in the following pages is given, almost entirely, in the words of the women who did the work.

It was felt that this was the most certain way of obtaining a living narrative. It falls naturally into seven parts. An appreciation of Dr. Elsie Inglis stands in the middle, with chapters on each side describing the work with which she was most intimately connected.
