By Abbie Heathcote

$17.00

During his lifetime, Douglas was highly regarded as both a potter and painter.

He was also recognised as a passionate conservationist and charismatic and eccentric individual . He was awarded the MBE in 1975, always the odd man out he turned up for the ceremony wearing a hessian suit he had woven, dyed, and tailored himself. He was shoeless, and his hair, he claimed had not been cut for twenty years, and his beard virtually obscured his face.
