Veteran Cars

Veteran Cars presents a perspective of cars and motoring from early days to 1918 built around a selection of eighty individual types.

Throughout, the author has sought to combine historical accuracy with a touch of interest. Why, for instance, were light and flimsy steam runabouts commercially successful in the USA? And why did France lead the way up to 1907-08?

Arranged chronologically, the cars have been chosen from international viewpoint. Particular attention has been paid to authenticity of colour and detail in splendid full colour artwork of each car. Contemporary photographs and colour transparencies as well as technical details add to the wealth of illustration.
