Southern Africa Since 1800

Southern Africa Since 1800 has established itself since its first publication as a very successful and widely acclaimed text.

In this completely revised and rewritten edition, the history of the subcontinent has been carried forward to the 1980s, and account has been taken of the major advances in the historiography of the region since the book’s first appearance.

The book is specially written for senior school, college and university students following courses in Southern Africa and/or African history. It also provides an interesting and informative introduction to the history of Southern Africa for the general reader.
