Sherlock Bones

A children’s picture storybook about Sherlock Bones, the dog who proves he is not dumb. Dad thinks Bones is dumb, but when Dad loses his keys, Sherlock Bones uses a metal detector to find them so Dad changes his mind.

My Dad said Bones is dumb. I think he’s a clever dog, he’s always finding things. Not only did Bones find my blue ball in our neighbour’s yard, he built a crane to lift me over the fence! He’s so sophisticated, he reads the paper and drinks tea while I lick my cereal bowl clean. At breakfast Dad is in a fluster. He can’t find his keys and he’s running late for work. We hunt high and low – in Dad’s pockets, in the goldfish bowl, even in the fridge. What’s that beeping noise? Bones with Dad’s metal detector? And he’s found something – Dad’s keys! Now Dad loves Sherlock Bones, too.
