Welcome to the world of “Informania”, a new series that treats its subjects with a mixture of sensationalism, humour and hard fact.

This first title is packed to the gills with the latest news and views on the ocean’s oldest and meanest predators – sharks. The book is presented in four chapters: Section 1 – “Shocking Shark Stories”, appears as “Splash!” magazine with articles, a comic-strip and some gory tales of shark attacks; Section 2 – “Confidential Crime Files”, are the secret reports of the FBI (the Fish Bureau of Investigation), giving a detailed identification lowdown on the biggest, baddest, ugliest sharks in the ocean; Section 3 – “Database: Shark Profile”, takes a computer graphic approach, inviting readers to “log on” to discover about shark anatomy; and Section 4 – “Biology Notes: Reproduction” is presented in the form of a pupil’s spring term school project and makes for surprising reading.
