Three women all make the same mistake—loving Michael Knight, who is about to reap what he has sown.

The wife, Jane, has everything – success, status and children – but it has all turned bitter. The lover, Grace, ran away and married another man, but then her conscience caught up with her. Lovely, haunted Imogen, the daughter, dances along a sexual knife-edge, seeking her escape through crime and drugs. Three women, and the men who love them, are victims of a serial adulterer: Michael Knight. Every year, at their house in France, Jane gives a party for Michael’s birthday. Among the medieval villages and rolling hills of Gascony, with the distant backdrop of the Pyrenees, friends and family gather to celebrate. This year, at last, the crop of pain and anguish which Michael has sown will be harvested.
