By Eric Valli & Diane Summers
$30.00
On top of one of the highest plateau’s in the world, in the heart of the Himalaya, live the Dolpo-pa.
In the winter months they cultivate an arid land whose harvest barely feeds them. As spring arrives they traverse the Himalaya, moving with their caravans and yaks between the mountains and Tibet to graze their livestock and to exchange their grain for Tibetan salt.
Eric Valli and Diane Summers followed these caravans on the salt route for two years.
Covering more than a thousand miles by foot across the Himalaya, they shared the rugged life of the Dolpo-pa. Their book invites the reader into an unknown realm to share in the spirit of a great adventure.
