American’s newest attack submarine the USS America has been stolen by a rogue CIA team, and Jake Grafton is drafted in to investigate.

He suspects the theft may be linked to the first space-based anti-missile defence system, which failed to reach orbit and was lost at sea. When the USS America fires cruise missiles containing new, classified, electromagnetic warheads over Washington and then New York, trillion-watt pulses fry every circuit, switch, and microchip – along with a major portion of the Internet. The question Jake must answer is who has most to gain from a crippled American economy?

But, while Jake strives for answers, he must also find and neutralise the stolen submarine before nay more of its deadly cargo is dispatched – not to mention dodging the assassin’s bullets trained on him.
